Camlin and District Anglers hold Christmas competition | Fishing in Ireland

The Camlin and District Anglers held their George Wenman Memorial/Christmas competition on December 28th on Lough Forbes. The weather stayed good and 18 boats fished the competition. There were some good fish caught, with the results as follows:

• 1st Mark Wenman, Daniel & Simon Daly 299.5cm
• 2nd Emmet Galvin & Neil Cooney 291cm
• 3rd Chris Scally & Brian Connaughton 287.5cm
• 4th Shane Gill & Wayne Cheshire 274cm
• 5th Joe McDermott & Pat Healy 269.5cm

At lines in it was back to the Castle Inn for a fabulous spread and prize giving ceremony.

Congratulations to Joe McDermott who, as well as finishing in the top five on the day,  was confirmed as club fisherman of the year. The next competition will be the blessing of the boats / Ray Gill memorial in February.
