Damien Culliney of Anglers Paradise Guiding had Marcel Soproni and Cosmin Buciu out for a day on Lough Derg earlier this week.
The target species was pike but with east winds blowing and the conditions being poor enough in general it wasn’t clear that the pike would play ball. As luck would have it there were not 1 but 2 windows of opportunity when suddenly the fish were biting.
The best pike was a lovely conditioned 103 cm fish. Damian said that all the fish were in great condition and clearly getting ready for spawning.
