Aside from a few dispatches here and there, Chris Barclay of C. Barclay Fly Rod Co. has been a bit quiet for the past several years while he worked on a few things in his life away from fly fishing and rod building. A new chapter and brighter days are ahead and he recently updated his Smallwater Blog with what’s been going on in his life, an announcement that he’s building fly rods full-time again in a new shop space in Winston-Salem, new fly rods in the works, and then a full trip report from Montana.
There’s a lot packed in the post with more good news coming soon. I couldn’t be happier for Chris and look forward to his new ideas in fiberglass fly rod design. Could something be actually better though than my (mind blowing) Synthesis 68 Blue Ridge Special?
