Dave shared this set of photos on Instagram the other day and I asked if I could share here. Enjoy.
We left North Carolina with a truck full of rods, optimism, and the understanding that the world outside was the only sane place left. Our destination was Colorado. We drove west into uncertainty, windows down, dog hair flying, covering what felt like unlimited miles of trout water like it was a sacred land.
For ten days straight, we fished—every day, all day. High alpine creeks, small creeks, and meandering meadow streams. We linked up with good-hearted people along the way, locals who welcomed us into their waters and homes.
There’s something about long days on the water and longer drives through mountains that reveals a person’s true shape. You see how they think, how they cope, how they get quiet when the landscape gets big. Chris and I came out of it with more miles, more stories, and maybe more clarity than we expected.”
Both Dave and Chris have a lot going on right now and following along on their Instagram pages at Dave Fason Creative and C. Barclay Fly Rod Co. are the best bet for the latest news.
